Abstract

Speech interfaces are increasingly finding their way in many different forms and used in a varied environment. It is also frequently used in the context of driving. The speech interface may advantage driving performance but it can also be distracting. To overcome the weakness of the speech interface, the present study aimed at finding the adequate 1) speech output (granularity of speech, clustering method) and 2) speech-aided visualization output (length of speech, voice pairing motion) in reducing cognitive load while driving.
