Abstract
Two-color hologram multiplexing in stoichiometric LiNbO3:Tb,Fe was performed to exhibit a photochromic effect. One hundred angle-multiplexed holograms of equal strength were recorded from the colored state using 850 nm recording beams and a 436 nm gating light. Results showed that 80 million readouts with a bit rate of 1 Gbit/s are possible before the diffracted signal intensity decays to half of its initial value.
