In our cases, of chronic osteomyelitis the etiology was of dental origin, and directly related to a tooth extraction and pericoronitis. The results of the preoperative and postoperative radiographic findings are reported. Considering the increasing tendency to administrate antibiotics incorrectly and the prominence of chronic osteomyelitis after the acute phase, the radiographic findings are still of utmost value for the correct diagnosis of chronic osteomyelitis.
