Abstract
A full-term 5-month-old breast-fed female infant presented with a 2-month history of diarrhea and a 1½-month history of an acrodermatitis enteropathica-like skin eruption. Her serum zinc level and the maternal milk zinc level were markedly reduced. All symptoms disappeared promptly with oral zinc therapy, after which the patient's serum zinc level returned to normal.
