Abstract

We studied optical characteristics of a hollow optical fiber with an air hole at the center of a core. The effects of hole on the intensity distribution, bending loss, dispersion depending on hole sizes and refractive indices were analyzed. This study will provide an important guideline for optofluidic devices based on hollow optical fibers.
