Abstract

The assessment of pulp vitality and evaluation of the necessity for root canal treatment are among the most important procedures in treating traumatized teeth (1). With respect to pulp vitality, false-negative results may lead to unnecessary root canal treatment, whereas, false-positive results leading to delayed diagnosis may cause severe complications such as root resorption (2), apical periodontitis, fistula, abscess (3), and even tooth loss (4, 5).
