Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate how the indoor temperature has influence on occupants' attention abilities as a basis of productivity. In the experiment, temperature was controlled according to two levels (20 degree C and 23 degree C) and other factors were controlled uniformly in climate chamber. All of subjects were exposed to those two different thermal conditions. Each participant was asked to answer to attention measurement sheets (FAIR and Trail making test). Total 60 trials were conducted. The main results are as follows. First, subjects showed the better attention abilities in relation to Quality score at 20 degree C. But attention abilities in relation to Continuity score were higher at 23 degree C. Second, the attention skill to control obstructions was better at 20 degree C.
