Abstract
The mechanism of continuous switching action in the flux pump which takes place in the superconducting foil has been studied. The Helmholtz equation has been used to find the distribution of the superconducting current on the boundary between the superconducting and normal region. The distribution of the current, the magnetic field and the electric field in the superconducting foil have been derived theoretically and numerically. These distributions could determine the parameters of the equivalent electric circuit as well as the pole-shape design for the flux pump as an electric power supply. The agreement between the theoretical model and the practical one is fairly good.
