The investigation of the substitution of hydrogen to fluorine in CsCaF3 shows existence of a solid solution CsCaF3-xHx (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.70) with cubic perovskite type structure. Both X-ray powder diffraction and wide line NMR show a statistical distribution of hydrogen and fluorine anions. The thermal evolution of the line width in the NMR spectra for 1H and 19F has been studied. The hydride ion is the only mobile one. Ionic conductivity measurements seem to confirm a diffusion mechanism based on anionic hydrogen vacancies.
