Abstract

The algorithm of optimal data processing for linear frequency modulated Continuous Waveform (LFM CW) radar is considered. It is shown that such algorithm can be performed by means of tracking range measurement consisting of the non-linear discriminator and linear averaging circuits. The structure of discriminator is synthesized and fluctuations of spectral density for optimal discriminator realizing the algorithm of correlation processing w.r.t. high-frequency LFM-signal as well as discriminators used in practical radar-altimetry is compared in this research.
