Abstract
The preparation of resorcinol/formaldehyde (R/F) gel particles by means of the sol-emulsion-gel technique has been studied. The particle sizes were controlled by the composition of the system and the emulsification conditions - the agitation rate, the shape of agitator, the contents and type of surfactant and the type of oil. Spherical morphology of the gel particles was confirmed by optical microscopy. The sizes of these particles ranged from submicrometer to a few hundred micrometers.
