Abstract

The new porous materials (Si-HTlc) were successfully synthesized by the intercalation reaction of anionic silicates into hydrotalcite (HTlc) under mild temperature, conditional pH and anionic silicate concentration. The as-prepared Si-HTlcs display slit-like pore structure with 12.3-17.0 nm pore size and a surface area of 370-650 m2 g-1 with the creation of some micropores but mainly of mesopores. The main evidences and factors about the results are also discussed. Furthermore, these facts suggest the formation of new pore framework through a strong interaction of silicate anions into the HTlc inner-surface with the interlayer hydroxyl groups.
