Abstract

(Figure Presented) The bridge determines the size of the loop? Palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of borylporphyrins led to the construction of β-pyridine-bridged porphyrin nanorings in good yields (around 55-60 % ; see scheme). The photophysical study revealed that these nanorings exhibit weakly coupled chromophores and longer fluorescent lifetimes, which is an apparent advantage in the process of efficient excited energy transfer.
