Abstract
A novel route to form a periodic structure was observed in a liquid filled hollow optical fiber. Highly reproducible liquid-air and polymer-air periodic structures were fabricated inside hollow fiber by traversing a local heat source, and irradiating UV light, respectively. Their photonic and optofluidic applications are explored.
