Abstract
The self adjustments of positions of quantized modelocked optical pulses were observed in a passively harmonic modelocked fibre laser, using a dispersion imbalanced nonlinear optical loop mirror. The generation of femtosecond optical pulses were intensively studied for ultrafast optical communication applications. As the pump power was varied, the positions of the harmonic modelocked pulses, and the pulses in the fibre laser were found to self adjust until a stable pulse train was obtained.
