Abstract
The pressure coefficient distributions in the smooth and ribbed two-pass ducts with various rotation numbers and rob arrangements was illustrated. The pressure coefficient and the mass transfer coefficients induce thermal performance that was considered in the design of an internal passage. The local pressure coefficients on the leading and trailing surface are nondimensionalized with the velocity and density of the main flow. The uncertainty of the friction is estimated to be within confidence level by using the uncertainty estimation method, while the pressure-drop results was presented as the friction factor ratios for a fully turbulent flow in a stationary smooth circular tube. The results show that in the stationary cases, the highest friction loss appears in the parallel-ribbed duct among all of the ducts and in the turning among all of the regions, due to strong vortices by rib turbulators and the turning region.
