Abstract
This paper investigates the beamforming optimization problem for multibeam satellite communication systems. We focus on the minimization of transmit power on the satellite downlink system subject to the quality of service (QoS) of the satellite user and the interference signal of the terrestrial user. Due to the non-convexity of the original optimization problem induced by the user's channel state information (CSI) uncertainty, we consider a robust beamforming scheme for converting the original optimization problem into a tractable convex optimization problem with some approximation techniques. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method reasonably guarantees transmission power in the presence of channel uncertainty.
