Abstract

The reverse transformation (ε→γ) temperatures in Fe-15%Mn-5%Co-5%Cr-X% Si shape memory alloys were discussed. The microstructures of Fe-15%Mn-5%Co-5%Cr-X%Si alloys quenched from 1000°C consisted of γ austenite and thermal ε martensite without α′ martensite at room temperature. The analysis showed that ε martensite start temperatures (Ms) were a little higher than room temperature and almost constant regardless of Si content.
