Abstract

A kinetic model of photodissociation iodine laser (PIL), including the relaxation kinetics between the sublevels of the upper state is presented with a set of rate equations. The schematic level diagram of this model is shown. The difference of this level diagram from previous ones is in the separation of the upper state into two levels, N//2 (**2 P//1/////2, F equals 2) and N//3(**2P//1/////2, F equals 3), and the inclusion of the detailed relaxation kinetics between these sublevels.
