Relationship transitions as seen in the national survey of families and households

Abstract

The examination of relationship history in two waves of the National Survey of Families and Households data resulted in twenty-one different marital status classifications. The findings indicate the diversity of marital status categories and the complexity of studying relationship dissolution and recoupling.
