Abstract

In this paper the point spread function of autoradiography is experimentally measured and used with digital image restoration techniques to improve the resolution of autoradiographs. We compare two regularized iterative image restoration algorithms applied to autoradiography. A nonlinear filter is used for the removal of film grain noise prior to restoration. Our results indicate a 23% improvement in resolution.
