Abstract

An experimental demonstration and evaluation of a digital/RF WDM link system is presented, which transmits 622 Mbit/s digital data stream and 900 MHz RF carrier modulated by 44.74 Mbit/s over a singlemode fibre and then simultaneously detects these signals using a single photodiode. To reduce the crosstalk between adjacent channels, a novel suppression scheme employing Mach-Zehnder type filter (MZF) is proposed. The proposed cascade configuration results in the enhanced CNR and Q factors compared to other schemes which adopt the conventional filtering.
