Abstract

Gradient-index and step-index plastic optical fibers (POFs) have been fabricated and utilized in various areas in Korea from the end of 1990's. Various components including connectors and transceivers have been also developed for POF based FTTH solutions. In this talk, an overview of research and development activities of POF in Korea will be presented.
