Abstract

This work presents real-time observation of the nanoscale growth and assembly processes of gold nanoparticles supported on single-layered graphene. We monitor the gold nanoparticle growth induced by electron-beam using in-situ TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy). This result allows us to visualize critical steps in the nanoscale process including nanoparticle coalescence, structural reshaping, and crystallographic alignment.
