Abstract
ZSM-5 zeolite films were prepared from nanosized zeolite having 200 nm particles by controlling the drying and dispersion processes. The effects of solid content, drying temperature and solvent on film formation were evaluated. The optimum solid content and drying temperature were 0.1-0.2 wt.% and 80-100°C, respectively. The important steps for the formation of zeolite film were the preparing the nanosized particles and the dispersing them in the polar media (dielectric constant: ≥30ε) because polarity affected the solvent-induced modification of zeolite particles. The specific morphologies of the prepared zeolite films were observed successfully by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The formation mechanism of the zeolite film was proposed based on the micrographical analysis.
