Abstract

The use of personalized service discovery can ensure that users only receive services that fit their preferences and are appropriate to their context, through ubiquitous computing. The framework exploits user context and extends the search for services to the global domain, thereby highlighting the challenges of service discovery in a ubiquitous computing environment. The personalized service discovery method aggregates services that are contextually close to the user in the VPS in advance. Services automatically discover an appropriate directory to which to send their advertisements. The service activator also provides an interface for managing services in the VPS, which further displays services as rectangular icons with geometric locations and other users as circles. The experiment has also developed the POM using Java and SLP to interact located at the location corresponding to the computer.
