Abstract

In this paper, we study the performance of repetition-based grant-free (GF) schemes to efficiently in the massive machine type communication (mMTC) scenario. In specific, we investigate and compare the K repetition proposed by the fifth generation (5G) standardization meeting and the irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA) which uses successive interference cancellation (SIC) to achieve better decoding performance.
