Abstract

In this paper, we proposed a thermally assisted magnetic recording (TAMR) suspension with an optical fiber and prism attached for light delivery. The shock characteristics of the conventional and TAMR systems are investigated. In addition, the thermal effects such as disk and pole-tip of the slider deformation are also considered and studied. Finally, the operation shock analysis of a T AMR suspension considering the thermal effects is investigated.
