Abstract

This study aims to investigate the behavior characteristics of the particles within circulating fluidized bed(CFB) depending on inter-phase drag model. The computational particle fluid dynamics(CPFD) method was applied in the simulation of the gas solid flow in a CFB. To scrutinize the hydrodynamic characteristics, the inter-phase drag model was selected as calculation parameters in the present study. Ergun, Wen-Yu, and Richardson's models were used for a computational analysis. The effects of inter-phase drag model on the particle volume fraction and pressure were investigated. Different inter-phase drag models showed certain influence on the gas-solid flow behaviors in CFB.
