Abstract

Naval vessel radar systems contain heat sources that require concentrated cooling due to the significant amount of heat they generate. In addition to cooling, these heat sources need to be within certain range of temperature among themselves to avoid signal jamming. To address this issue, we present a numerical analysis of a radar antenna system whose heat sources are equipped with thermoelectric refrigeration devices to control their temperature distribution. The refrigeration capacity of thermoelectric devices depends on the current applied onto the device and also on the amount of area installed onto the heat source. In this study, we have obtained results for the cooling capability of thermoelectric devices with varying current and power consumption to acquire a more uniform temperature distribution among heat sources.
