Abstract
We investigate the origin of the induced absorption in CdSe quantum dots in borosilicate glass by using pump-probe spectroscopy and self-saturated pump-probe spectroscopy. The change in the absorption spectrum above the bandgap is found to be due to electrons in trap levels. The induced absorption around 520 nm occurs due to electrons in trap levels which again absorb the probe beam.
