Abstract
The measurement of the viscosity of the CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-FeO blast furnace (BF) type under conditions of C/S≅1.15-1.6 and 5-10 mass% FeO was presented. It was found that the viscosity of the slags decreased with increasing the content of FeO at a high viscosity. It was observed that the viscosity of the relatively basic BF slag (C/S>1.3) could be predicted by employing the thermodynamic concept for the chemical potential of dicalcium silicate.
