Abstract

Light-sheet microscopy has emerged as a powerful approach for long-term imaging within neuroscience and developmental biology. This chapter will cover the basics of light-sheet microscopy with an emphasis on structured light fields, namely propagation-invariant beams. The use of such fields allows the field-of-view to be maximized while retaining high resolution. There are additional advantages of minimizing photodamage.
