Abstract
This chapter introduces the progress in research on inorganic semiconductor nanomaterials in the form of membranes and ribbons for large-area, flexible, and stretchable electronics. It summarizes the general methods for producing semiconductor nanomaterials and their properties and presents various applications of semiconductor nanomaterials, such as flexible solar cells, memories, and radio frequency (RF) devices. It also summarizes the results and provides the perspectives and trends for future work. Inorganic semiconductor-based flexible electronics is receiving a lot of attention owing to the many benefits it offers over organic-based electronics, such as high performance, simple fabrication, and good compatibility with conventional electronics. Although printable inorganic semiconductor nanomaterials have various technological issues to overcome, they can provide interesting possibilities for flexible and stretchable electronics, which significantly grows by the introduction of new products such as smart and interactive packaging and wearable electronics.
