Abstract

This manuscript presents three-phase power flow and short-circuit analyses of an unbalanced three-phase distribution system using a time domain modeling approach. In particular, the manuscript discusses the modeling of the motor load using the time-domain induction machine model. The time domain power flow and short-circuit results are compared to those of the steady-state and other time-domain approaches. This manuscript uses PSCAD/EMTDC for the analysis purpose.
