Abstract
The value of the weak mixing parameter has recently been determined to be of order 0.1|Vcb|. A recent determination of in CP-violating kaon decays gives (-0.5±1.5)×10-3, in contrast to an earlier measurement of (3.3±1.1)×10-3. The implications of these results for the magnitudes and phases of the Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements and for the top-quark mass are explored.
