Abstract

It accelerates the node death and leads to deteriorate the energy efficiency of the network to choose cluster head randomly in LEACH. This paper aims to propose a new routing protocol that selects cluster heads considering the geographical location and the residual energy of the node. The simulation result shows that our proposed scheme, called to H-LEACH, extends the network lifetime of LEACH delaying death times of all nodes including the first node and making survive nodes evenly distributed in the network.
