Abstract
Thermolysis of 1,3-dihydroxy-1,3-divinyldisiloxane, 1, having intramolecular donor atoms gave (dimethylaminomethyl)phenylvinylsilanone at moderated temperatures. The generated silanone underwent oligomerization to afford cyclic trisiloxane D3 and cyclic tetrasiloxane D4. The silanone species was identified by trapping experiments using hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane and MeOH. Interestingly, D3 and D4 were returned to 1 by hydrolysis.
