Abstract

We investigate the intensity and amplitude distributions through a nano double-slit and a nano double-box by the two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method based on Drude model. In particular, we find that there is an 'intermediate region' between the near-field and far-field regions, which vary with thickness and width of the doubleslit. Here, we describe the local fields and intensities propagating along and perpendicular to metal surface and their spatial distributions to verify the existence of the intermediate region.
