Abstract

This paper investigates a calibration method using iterative spline interpolation. The calibration method using iterative spline interpolation keeps the inter-element spacing of the adjacent hydrophone on the estimated shape and gives accurate estimation of the towed array shape. The data used in the analysis were colleted from the towed array in East Sea, Korea, in September 2003. The experiment shows that the polynomial fitting method of 5-th order using iterative spline interpolation is suitable for accurate estimation and requires moderate computational complexity.
