Abstract

The effects of nonionic surfactant properties on stability of cellulase activity and deinking by floatation were examined. The surfactant of high hydrophilicity lipophilicity balance(HLB) value was favorable for stability of cellulase. When surfactant of HLB value 17.9 was added, the concentration of reducing sugar at 24 h was increased by 35 % than control. The factors such as pulping time, HLB value and foam volume could effect to ink removal efficiency. Low HLB value surfactant was favorable to ink removal in floatation process. HLB value was one of the important factors to be considered when ink particle removed by flotation method. In this study the optimum HLB value of nonionic surfactant was 10. 4. The effects of cellulase on fiber length distribution were also studied.
