Abstract

This paper investigates the propagation characteristics of transmission line disturbances in terms of attenuation and dispersion for positive/negative and zero sequence modes. Numerical calculations of the attenuation and phase and group velocities for a typical high voltage transmission are provided. The dispersion effects are investigated for a broad range of frequencies. The results are compared to the existing frequency-dependent J. Marti transmission line model using EMTP simulations.
