Abstract

In this paper, a double-dwell serial search algorithm having multi-level threshold values is proposed to mitigate the possible performance degradation caused by use of single pair thresholds in PN code acquisition system. We present mathematical model and performance analysis of proposed algorithm in DS-CDMA systems. We also compare the mean code acquisition time of our algorithm with that of conventional scheme under IMT-2000 channel models. It is shown that our scheme outperforms the conventional method having one pair of threshold values by 0.2-0.3 sec with respect to the mean code acquisition time.
