Abstract
This paper proposes a spiral antenna array for wideband compact array which is composed of an Archimedean spiral antenna with double arms. It is a low profile, hexagonal spiral antenna array which can have beam scan angle of 30 degrees without grating lobe from 1.5 GHz to 6 GHz (4:1 bandwidth). When we design the wideband array, the space of elements is limited for beam-steering. However, the limitation is solved by mutual coupling between each element. It has better performance in comparison with the previous spiral antenna array method. The array performance for beam-steering is represented by radiation patterns at the certain frequencies.
