Abstract

Recent studies have focused on typical dispatching rules along with preemption, but have not noted dispatching decisions within the preemption mechanism. Two dispatching decisions are studied within the preemption procedure in this research. This research shows that, just as typical dispatching rule, no single dispatching decision within preemption guarantees optimal system performance. This result means that not only typical dispatching rules but also dispatching decisions within preemption should be studied to achieve better system performance.
