Abstract
The main text of the abstract follows here for a total abstract length of 10.5 inches using 12pt font. Plasma display panel (PDP) is one of the most promising technologies for large size flat panel display. But there have been no probe measurements about the specific plasma parameters such as the electron temperatures, gas temperature and electron density due to small scalability and several hundreds of pressures in PDP. In this work, we describes the parametric study including the excitation temperature, rotational temperature, and electron density in PDP driven by pulsed excitation of 30-100 kHz and operated in the pressure ranged from 300 to 500 Torr by optical emission spectroscopy. The excitation temperature and rotational temperature responsible for the minimum electron temperature and gas temperature respectively., The excitation temperature was determined by Boltzmann plot method and the rotational temperature of nitrogen molecule was obtained by a comparison of N2 band simulations and normalized N2 band spectrum. The electron density was obtained by the Stark broadening width of the Hβ emission line profile. Finally, We investigate the relation between the PDP luminance and plasma parameters.
