Abstract

This paper suggests the improved design of stamped base using 2.5 inch hard disk drive (HDD). The stamped base has lower stiffness than that of die casting base. Therefore, it is necessary to analysis and improving the shock performance of stamped base to realize the HDD system. To improve shock performance of stamped base, the finite element model is constructed by verifying the experimental result and the shape of stamped base is modified. Finally, shock performance of stamped base has been verified with simulation.
