Abstract

By deploying wireless sensor networks in the future ubiquitous computing environment, smart consumer electronic devices could cooperate with such networks for sensing the environment and reacting upon various events more actively and accurately. However, the information gathered by sensor nodes may vary in locations and sensory devices, and is represented usually in complex form difficult to understand in the human side. In this study, we aim at constructing the virtual world where virtual objects visualize the information gathered in wireless sensor networks. The resulting virtual world may let users understand and estimate more easily the state of the real world measured by sensor networks, and interact with or through their consumer electronic devices.
