Abstract

Using the Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID), the critical fluctuations associated with the magnetization and conductivity near the critical temperature of Bi-2212 single crystal were measured. The results indicate that the fluctuations obey 3D-XY scaling. Compared with YBCO, the weak interlayer coupling that gives rise to a weak pinning of vortices increases most likely the static critical exponent. However, the interlayer interaction does not influence the dynamical critical exponent. The universality class is close to one of superfluid 4He.
