Abstract
We report the temperature and magnetic field dependences of critical current densities Jc(H-, T) and the irreversibility lines Hirr(T) for Hg1-xTlxBa2(Ca0.86Sr 0.14)2Cu3O8+delta; (x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75). The partial substitution of Tl for Hg leads to significant enhancement of Jc-and Hirr without changing Tc. This enhancement is attributed to an improvement in the flux pinning capability by the Tl doping. The temperature dependence of Jc and Hirr follows a power law: Jc ∝ (1 - T/Tc)v and Hirr ∝ (1 - T/Tc)α with the values of v and α decreasing as the Tl content increases.
